A True Story...

This is a true story. It is my story. I do not tell it to make you feel sad or sorry for me! I tell you because I have the wonderful opportunity to begin my own rubber stamp line again! I have purchased an existing stamp manufacturing company and I need to transport the equipment to my town! I need to raise approximately $2000.00 for these expenses.
Please help me make this story have a happy ending by contributing to my truck and travel fund.

In exchange for your generosity, the following thank you gifts will be given:

$5.00 pledge-you receive a downloadable digi image of your choice from my digi shop.

$25.00 pledge- you receive a special edition u/m rubber stamp from the new stamp line!

$50.00 pledge- you receive a special edition mounted rubber stamp from the new stamp line
and a special art print by me!

$100.00 pledge- you will receive a spot in my 4 week art e-course (coming Nov. 1, 2012).

$500.00 pledge- you will receive a spot in my e-course, a special edition stamp set and an
original 12 x 12 painting by me!

If you do not want to make a pledge in this way, I ask you to PLEASE purchase from my etsy shop!
Every bit will help and be SO very appreciated. This means the world to me. thank you from the bottom of my art.

  5. Kristen: You were one of the most influential and inspiring designers and teachers of rubber stamping! You deserve another chance to share your beautiful artwork and imagination to the "new" world of papercrafting that's around and about us...it's a different time in stamping, but they tried and true as well as those that don't know you...need your art!

Sending inky hugs (and a few green ones) your way!

I already told you that my favorite stamps in my collection are ones that you designed (that I bought from the mean people not knowing any of this...). I love them so much and hate what they did to you. I made a little money today at an art fair and I'm going to share it with you. I wish you all the best, and can't wait to see what the new stamp line looks like. Good luck!

  14. The first time I ever met you was when I drove to Effie Glitzfinger's Stamp Emporium from Paducah, Kentucky. I loved a particular crescent moon stamp that you were selling, but you were out. You offered to send it to me, but I think you could tell how disappointed I was that I couldn't take it home with me. You sold me the stamp that you had been using in the store for $5 (I think) because it was used. I have treasured that stamp for years. I visited your store twice more and you always shared tips with me or helped me figure out things that I couldn't understand how to do. You encouraged me in my art so I'm glad I can do something to help you move ahead in yours right now. Good luck! I can't wait to see what you do!

  32. OUt of curiosity, what have YOU been doing on your own to raise the $900? I know moving expenses eat into your funds needed. How much of the needed $2k has been yours? Have you tried selling things you do not need in order to make money? Have you changed living habits? My concern is that if you only need $2k to buy this rubberstamp company business, then why haven't you simply put it on your credit card? And if you cannot or your limit has been reached, then where will you get the money needed to RUN the business? It seems like you need more in reserves,as there will be many expenses ,start-up expenses and taxes,etc...It seems more than BOLD to ask people for money so you can buy your desired business...but if you get it,then you are good at sales/marketing. The economy is not good; money is scarce. Stamps are not a product that people buy when they don't have discretionary income available.

    1. Thank you for your comment. I appreciate your concern and input. I do wonder why you ask and honestly why you care? Have you heard of Kickstarter or Indiegogo or Rocket hub? I could delete your message but instead, will answer your questions since you seem to "care"...I have been working my tail off day and night to raise the money. I have (and DO): make art, take on odd jobs, clean houses, do nails and teach classes AND ASK FOR HELP in order to raise this money. AS far as my living habits, my husband and I have not been out to dinner or a movie together in over two years. I DO NOT USE credit cards. I am moving to a small town in order to cut my living expenses. Do you know about what business I am buying or how much it makes? Thank you for saying I am "BOLD" I take it as a compliment. You need not contribute to my endeavor, it is completely optional. And the craft and hobby industry is doing quite well in this bad economy. I will take my chances and have people who believe in me who seem to be willing to gamble on me too. Thank you again for your comment "Anonymous" blessings to you. xohp

    3. Well I have to say that anonymous isn't a person of such good character if I might say; the reason being if you believe in what you have to say you don't hide behind an anonymous tag....
Quite possibly he/she does not have friends who would want to support him/her.
So in my opinion KP you are richer than they will ever be. Well done you for leaving up the comment and for your response, demonstrates who is the bigger person.

How about YOU, Annonymous? What positive thing have YOU accomplished today?

      GO KAE PEA!

  33. "why haven't you simply put it on your credit card?" -- wow. what an absolutely horrifying comment. maybe because CREDIT CARDS are one of the main things that got everyone into this mess -- (see "the economy is not good, money is scarce"). predatory lending and horrible banking practices (like high interest credit cards) ruined a lot of things for a lot of people, and now you suggest someone rebuild their life and dreams on the back of a crumbling empire of plastic? good idea, anonymous... but i'll take pragmatic, realistic, attainable goals set in REAL cash that will create no debt over charging it any day.

on a side and more important note i am so proud of kae pea and all the back breaking work she has put into not only this business venture but her established ones as well and for overcoming all of the negative people in her life (like the evil king and queen and to a lesser extent, "anonymous" here) while achieving her dreams. i love you, MOM!

  35. I have donated to KaePae's business and I am proud.

I believe in her and her goals. I have seen her work hard at everything -- including but not limited to: completing her college BFA degree, mothering, painting, manicurist, housecleaner, petsitter, working at a non-for-profit gallery, teaching, tutoring, building websites, blogs, etsy, being a wife, entrepreneur, and loving friend.

There aren't enough hours in the day to describe all the effort she puts in to everything she does.

She will achieve her goals-- with the business, as well as becoming independent financially.

I am proud to encourage her in this new endeavor. I encourage all to join me.

  36. Dear anonymous,
obviously you've not heard of fundraising. First of all, I don't think that in any of this, did she once ask you for your personal opinion regarding finances.
Secondly, community based fundraising is a beautiful thing. I don't think she's asking anyone to come up with the entire $2K on their own, and it's good to share what we DO have with someone.
If you don't have the $, no one is making you. But don't hate on someone in their endeavors to pursue a goal or dream that perhaps you have no guts to pursue.

  37. Dear anonymous,
The great thing about the arty crafty community is that they help each other. I am sure that Kae Pea will pass on the giving that she has received - that is what we do.

As for 'simply putting it on your credit card' - that is what is wrong with society today and why the world economy is in such a mess.

I think Kae Pea has shown great strength in asking for help and I wish her well.

  39. I know we are all entitled to our opinions but she should have at least got the facts right. You already have raised the money yourself to buy the company and have done so. You need a bit of help with the costs of getting the company moved from where it is to where you are. I have learnt the hard way that some-times you can't do it by yourself and need to ask for some help. These are all so very lovely comments here. It has been nice reading what your good friend and your daughter have to say about you. For those who don't know I met KP in an online course we hit it off straight away. As I watched her art come out I knew this was one hard working dedicated lady. I think you are so great KP.

OMG! just had to put in my two cents to the anonymous comment. do you have any idea of her history? of how hard she has worked all of her life to do what she loves and share herself with the world? do you have any idea how generous her soul is? the people who support her cause (and I am a proud supporter) believe in helping others make their dreams come true. it is what artists do. we support each other. we all want to succeed and anyone who has ever achieved success has had people help them along the way. she is kind, generous, talented and inspiring. 41. Why would anybody who has no interest in assisting this wonderful artist, as all the above, care? Kae Pea is just asking if you WOULD like to contribute, great...plus, did you not see that she's GIVING SOMETHING BACK TO YOU if you donate? So, that means she's spending her TIME and LOVE of art to give YOU something for helping her reach her dream. And I so agree, credit cards are evil for a lot of people (I'm raising my hand high here)...this economy really is bad, BUT that said, I so agree that the crafters are doing okay...I go to Etsy for small gifts as a *pick me up* for friends or myself...Anonymous, you don't KNOW anything about this wonderful woman (and I don't really "know" Kae Pea, only as somebody I met and felt a connection at a craft show....look at all the wonderful comments.
